Diablo 4 Item Upgrades
item level upgrade upgrades allow players to increase the item level of equippable items such as weapons or armor, as well as trinkets above a certain threshold. You can upgrade items at any NPC that accepts the appropriate currency.

To upgrade the weapon you have to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. To upgrade your weapon, you will need 1 of 3 Power Dices. The first Power Dice can be found from any monster who is more than 21 years old, and the other two are only available from Giants and Bosses. Each upgrade will cost different amounts of Erons and Minerals. The more powerful an item upgrader kit is and the more expensive it is.
Weapons have a higher trading value when upgraded to the max because they cause more damage. There are weapons that have high trade values even if they aren’t upgraded since they offer useful stats (e.g. Whistan’s Shield is a good shield for FB Sorcs. There are a few unique sets and items that don’t require upgrades because they do not have any requirements or benefit from upgrading. Naj’s Puzzler staff, Goldwrap).
There are some sets that come with set bonuses that can provide additional effects when Link is wearing the full set. These bonuses are beneficial in certain situations, like when exploring the Gerudo Desert and in dungeons. The Desert Voe set, for instance, has an Stealth Up effect that makes it easier to escape the attention of enemies.
Universal upgrades can be used on any type of equipment. These upgrades provide fewer bonuses than the type-restricted ones however, they are more easy to obtain. Some of these upgrades can be turned into gems by a jeweler and can be used to upgrade any trinket slot. Other upgrade components are only used in weapon accessories, and offer a small amount of bonus, but without causing more damage.
Requirements
Upgrades are a key component of enhancing the strength and efficiency of your characters in combat. Upgrades can boost an item’s stats, or even add a prefix or suffix. The amount of stats an item can improve is based on its rarity as well as mark level. Upgrades can be found in dungeons, raids or bought from vendors. They can also be found by chance or taken from other players.
There is no viable solution to the “not worth” feeling that some players feel when upgrading certain items. In ideal scenarios, the game would surface more information about an upgrade in its compare interface, for instance “X stats gained, X stats lost.” This isn’t practical to implement because of the complexity of the process. There simply isn’t enough space in the UI to make it work.
Another option is to write an application that will check the requirements for upgrading an item prior to allowing it to be upgraded. Another option is to allow players to upgrade their armor and weapons. These upgrades are known as reforges, and they boost the stats of the item upgrade while reducing the cost. The power of reforges varies and the Orb of Transmutation or Orb of Embrace are the most powerful.
Costs
Upgrading gear can increase its physical power, spell power and health (for armor and rings) or add an additional benefit while it’s in your inventory. You can obtain upgrade components by crafting or buy them from vendors. You can also loot them or drop them from other players or receive them as reward. Upgrade components can be inserted into armor, weapons and trinkets. They can also be connected to tools for gathering. However, most upgrade components can’t be repaired or reused, except with the help of an Upgrade Extractor. However, there are exceptions for glyphs that can be salvaged by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.
Upgrades to an item can cost gold and/or Dilithium according to the type of item. Some upgrades also require Flightstones or crests. The number of crests and Flightstones needed to upgrade an item depends on the gear’s level, and a maximum upgrade level is determined by Blizzard. Upgrading to the highest upgrade level can be expensive especially when you’re upgrading gear for PvE.
Upgrades can also modify a weapon’s ammunition, or damage die size. They can also alter the special characteristics of a weapon like its heavy or operational property, or its hand requirement. Certain upgrades can alter a weapon’s appearance.
Before you make a decision, you should take into consideration the cost involved in upgrading an item. You may decide to make use of your gold for upgrading rare items, but do not spend it on ordinary or magic-tier items. These aren’t worth upgrading, and rare equipment will soon outclass them.
