WoW Upgrades – The Item Upgrader
Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.
Upgraded gear generally sees greater value for trade regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB sorc’s shield) or very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item upgrades level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. The item level upgrade (go to this site) used to upgrade the item will be consumed and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.
You can upgrade your gear at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up to date.
The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new equipment from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool with a button, which will display a preview of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.
The upgrade items cost depends on the item slot and the current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currency types.
Upgraders for items can be found in many places on the main island, as well as a few outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or complete quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur’s gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only available through a variety of methods. This is both a benefit as well as an issue.
In Season 3, a number of new features were added to the upgrade system. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading further items to that same item level will cost less, even in the event that they are part of another set of gear.
The discount is applicable to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available once certain milestones are achieved.
Crests
Players have several choices when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.
First, you should know that Crests are only available to equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The simplest and simplest upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complicated can require as much as 20 crests based on the type of equipment being upgraded.
Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for gear of lower tiers, dungeons or raids of any difficulty for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for gear that is used in the endgame. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to upgrade the item in the proper steps and paths.
Utilizing these new currencies isn’t too complicated, but the system introduces some changes to the overall upgrade process. For instance, once an item is at the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won’t need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest level possible on all their characters, rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
Another notable modification is that crests have one usage and it’s crucial to use them properly. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
