Line-up
Turn Back, the band’s third studio album is a return to a traditional sextet style, and it was a more consistent, more powerful effort with a harder edge. The more edgy sound of the album reflected the maturation of the group, with drummer Bobby Kimball’s greater virtuosity on drums, and an improved, mature vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich’s keyboard playing was as well more refined, more precise and less akin to previous recordings.
After touring to promote the album, the group recorded a live performance in Amsterdam that was released as a two-CD set titled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records.
