About Toto
The group Toto was formed in the year 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro and David Paich (who were also well-known studio musicians working with Boz Scaggs at the time) and singer/bassist Bobby Kimball. The name of the group came from a Latin word that means “all-encompassing” and was determined to explore all styles of music.
The third album by Toto, Turn Back, was a failure in 1981. However they came back with their fourth release, Isolation, which contained two hit songs with the title track and Roseanna. The album and their tour established them as a brand around the world.
